Hello and congratulations for the work on this cycle plugin adaptation.

I tryed it just a little on 3ds Max 2017 and 2019. It worked fine on 2019 but on 2017 version, I jsut got a black and white image. The computer used for this one was a normal intel CPU with a mobile 970 NVidia GPU.

Concerning MAx 2019, I used a brand new AMD ryzen 7 with a AMD GPU. It worked fine.

I wanted to try it on an architectural visualization but I noticed that there is no way to overide the environment mapping in order to use a simple background photo on which we can insert an architectural model. I saw that there is a checkbox to turn the background visible or not but it is just black when off. Hope , it could be used to display a backround image.

I noticed some other little problems concerning refreshing the image when changing some parameters of materials...But no crash....Very good indeed...

Thank you !

Glad to hear that you're checking out this plugin.

With the problem you have with 2017, does it happen when doing a render with the CPU, GPU, or both? I'm surprised to hear that you are getting different results between 2017 and 2019, as the plugin code is exactly the same for both. Also, if you could post an image of what the black and white render looks like I would love to see it.

Regarding the transparent background, this can indeed enable you to use a static background image. When that box is checked, the sky will render as black and the rendered image will have an alpha channel containing transparency information. As long as you save it in a format supporting an alpha channel, you can then load the image into photoshop or any image editor and add a background in.

I have plans to add support for static backgrounds like this to the plugin, but I'm not sure when it will be ready for release.

If you have any other questions or troubles let me know and I'll do my best to help.
